Hi everyone-
Im in the process of rebuilding my 250x, and im going to get the cylinder rebored. However, on close inspection of the inside the cylinder, it appears to be worn unevenly(there are large scratch marks in some places and not others, etc). Im wondering if this means that something else is wrong with it....
If anybody has any ideas id appreciate it
Thanks!!
Will

Ur cylinder will wear like that if you take in some water too. Mine did that .. I think I can ride through anything with no airbox lid:macho :)

There is a possibility that your crank isn't true, but that is doubtful.

For the most part, I would bore it out, replace the piston, and don't worry too much about it. Keep it in mind when you rebuild it the next time, and see if it shows the same signs. If you see it again on your next rebuild, then dig deeper into the engine to find the cause. My bet says the problem dissapears with a new piston and bore.
