Dual rate means 2 springs one lighter and one stiffer. Tripple is like the dual rate but with a 3rd spring. The rezzies help when riding hard for long periods a in XC or MX but really isn't necessary for most trail riders.

dual rate- 2 springs one softer for soaking up bumps and one is harder so you dont bottom off jumps and stuff.

trip rates- on spring is super soft for soaking up the smalles bumps, next one is softer for soaking up the bigger bumps third one is for soaking up landings for jumps.

i'll explain dual rates and stuff a little easier ;)
dual rate shocks have 2 springs on them. the 1st spring is sprung softer. You you go over a bump this one compresses first without the other compressing therefore giving you a softer ride. Then when you hit a bigger bump the other compress giving ita dual damping motion which is better than one.

triple-rate is based on the same idea with a 3rd spring. It gives a very smooth ride which i like alot when riding on rough terrain. It keep your tires tracking the ground better not "hopping" around which happens to me as a lighter guy.

and rezzies do help alot cause it helps keeps you shock and oil and gas fro mixing. when these two mix they begin to slow down the dampening action cause it is thicker and the term fading comes from that and rezzies keep the two speerated so after hard riding for a exteneded period of time your shocks should still feel relatively "fresh":D

When I bought my Axis (from Axis) they told me unless you run + a-arms that triples would be of no benefit.

interesting mark...is this true somebody? i have triple & it feels the same as my friends with doubles.

i think its true. i think with the stock arms the softest spring compresses when you sit on it. so the only time it would help would be jumping or wheeling but then its so soft it doesnt matter.... idk im pulling this outta my @ss here.:ermm:

The guy said with a stock a-arm you don't have enough leverage to work three springs. You can call and ask yourself.]

i believe you...it justs sounds a little crazy. but sounds true after you think about it

i think alot of that is how the shock builder chooses the springs.......i dont know 100% for sure though......:)

the piggy backs is just another different thing....it doesn't help performance at all unless you need more space in front but it doesn't cool better it actually just slightly worse then the remotes....

my regular triple rates are good....I dont know if I would spend $350 on them again though:rolleyes: too much money...but they do give quite a bit of performance.
