Works shocks better than stock?

Are the basic $330 Works triple rate shock better than the stock ones on a 400EX?
I'm getting to be a better rider and I seem to be using up the stock suspension now. I bottom out on the larger jumps.
Don't have much cash and I really need to upgrade my suspension. Will the basic Works shocks make a difference and help me out?

yes it is but maybe try and buy used works with rezzies if you do really any jumping and skills improving......works arent the best but they are alot better than stock........;)

check around for some serious deals on used shock. i cant believe some of the stuff out there. ive bought 3 sets of pep's in the last month and all have been excellent.


but to answer your question...you will notice a big improvemnet over stock with works

maybe you could find a cheap set on e-bay for sale & send them to DeRisi to get revalved & set up for you. I believe he can also add rezzies for you.:ermm:

the pep's feel really good....i still dont like not having piggy back rezzies but i can deal with it :p

lol i know i will get alot of heat on this buuuuuutttt i was getting ready to order a set of elkas rode them and hated them.........now i will only ride pep axis or tcs.......:)

They probably werent set up right or not set up for you. Elkas arent bad shocks.

elka seems to set thier shocks up too stiff for the normal rider.....the harder you ride them the better they feel.

i think i may have ridden a bad set of shocks though. This was the time when they were expirementing with their valving.here is what is felt like : first 1inch of travel was pretty stiff then after that it just got softer and softer. I didnt like the way they felt AT ALL so i am sticking with brand i know and trust puttin my money in. Everyone that has good elka i am happy for you!

I love my works tripple rates with rezzies, i havent noticed any fade and they sure take the bumps better, and i dont seem to have as much body roll either.

i'd like to get some used peps, or elkas, but it looks like all im gonna be able to get is Works triple rates with rezzys. but they should be alright. i guess. tel me wut u think
