Drag truck vs car

OK im wanting to race this dodge avenger kid that talks smack his is all stock, my sonoma has 4.3 vortec, kn intake, computer chip, soon to have flowmaster exhaust, and mine is only a single cab 2wd which do u think would win already without my the flowmaster i can do 0-85 in 7-8 sec

yeah i think i can blow him away cause he just got his lisense not to long ago and ive had mine for over a year almost god i cant stand this kid i hope i blow his @$$ away

I think the avenger will take you. I have ridden in two avengers and compared to s10's they are quick. I have an s10. Plus your s10 WILL not do 85mph in 7-8 seconds. My camaro takes 9.742 seconds to get to 71.66mph (thats the 1/8th mile)and a 400+rwhp 2002 trans am (he is a member on this site) only got to 88.9mph in 8.5 seconds. So sorry to say but you got your hopes kinda high on your truck.

remember that a s-10 is a lot lighter that a camaro and with a few mods he probly could do 0-80in 8sec.:ermm:

Is the s-10 an extreme. I know They are fast as h3LL! I also know the avenger is pretty fast cuz of the v6 (3.2 liter i think??). Ask him to do a tug of war, you will definately win that with the 4.3's torque. I think it will be a good race but im kind of leaning toward the s-10.

What model Sonoma? Manual or Auto? Reason I ask, is I had a '97 s-10 w/ all of that stuff, 5-speed (auto's are slower, IMO) and the only thing I didn't out run that I raced(there were alot of cars that I didn't run) was V-8 cars. My friend had a Grand Prix Supercharged and i pulled him by just a little. I'd put my money on the Sonoma :devil:

the avenger will beat you, why would you buy a s-10 if your worried about racing tho?, unless you decide to swap a smallblock into it.

my sonoma is a 94 single cab short box, manual tran. with the mods listed above

Basically what i had only mine had the ZQ8 suspension and lowered 3" on that (helped alot w/ wheel spin). You should take him if you keep the wheel spin to a min. :D

Well just remember you are driving a truck. Yeah its faster (than stock) but i don't know how much. Pretty much trucks with a little better mods than yours pull a mid to high 15 second 1/4mile, stock avengers run low 16's i believe. If you want to have a lot of fun cruze on out to a drag strip on test and tune night, gain some experience and keep the racing off of the streets.

Don't even worry about the tool. Let him talk all the smack he wants. If you take him take him at a track cause you guys sound pretty young. Don't do nothing stupid.

you need to go to some drag Races. I've seen S10s run under 8 seconds. Yeah with a 350 and quite a few mods. You'd be surprised how hard it is to hit 85mph .
