Just got myself a mostly orig. 88 250R just came out of the crate last year. I need to change the oil so i was wondering how much it holds, what kind i should use, and is there anyway to check it?

anyway to check it??? No there is no dipstick,,,,,,,,and the oil level check bolt is located between the water pump cover and the clutch "buldge" .

I drain my oil on my 88 after EVERY RIDE,,,,,,,,its cheap insurance. as far as what kind,,,,,,,,i use spectro 85W,,,,,,,,

So take out the drain bolt on the bottom of the cases,,,,,,,,,drain the oil......take out the oil level check bolt,,,,,,,then put a towel on the frame rail below the clutch cover,,,,to catch any oil when filling,,,,,,replace motor drain bolt,,,,,,,and then fill the crank case till oil comes out of the level check bolt......and replace that bolt........

i suggest a clymers manual........;)
