I've had 6 years of Tae Kwon Do (my instructor mixed in alot of karate and judo as well). Made it to my 1st degree black belt, then studied weapons for a year (bow staff). Give me a broom stick and I'll kick yo arse. :D It was probably one of the most mentally dedicated sports I've been in (if that makes sense). It was a very good experience and I learned ALOT.

When I was 16, I qualified through tournament spar'ing to go to the Jr Olympics, but never went... my mom wouldnt let me take a week off of school for it. At the time it was held somewher ein TX, I think Fort Worth...

Studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for a few years. It was great, but I got myself into a little trouble and had to stay away from it for a while. I want to go back, but I have a hard time finding the time between work, house, marriage, mx and jet skiing. I need a few more hours in the day, or a few less hours of work. But, I guess everyone could say that.

I have the feeling the expert martial artists here, would not say they know self defense.

oh here I will say it, because a question was asked about it. If you ask most of my friends, they dont know it.... as a matter of fact, only my close buddy and my family knows it. So I agree with ya...

I am certified in PPCT Self Defense (for cops and stuff), but my teacher was a 2-time national champ in judo. He is a crazy one, never realized i could be knocked out so fast.

one thing about martial arts is you can be burned out quick if you dont have the right type of instructor for you....ive been in martial arts all my life, ran a pretty well functioning school, but me even as an instructor got burned out...still love it though

hardly have time to train....

i plan on hitting the competitions again very soon
