6 ply your choice of tires I like Razr's and Holeshot.Proper air pressure and you will be OK.I prefer to run 10 pounds of air up front(I know thats alot but in 6 years of racing XC I have only hade 1 front flat.No less than 4 in the rear.

hey bill, you say you would run 10lbs of air up front in a holeshot xct....hows the quad's handling differ with the 10lb vs...say 5lb?
thnx...:)

I would get some Kenda Knarly's. The come in 20's and 22's and they're 6-ply.

thnx...:) The ride is a little bumpy at times but it is a good trade off for me (no flats) good shocks and you will never tell the differance. You will noyice when the tire rolls up on you in a corner(5 lbs.)

6 ply Bandits are pretty much bullet proof. Thats gotta be one of the strongest tires out there. And the fronts work real well traction wise. The rears are a little less spectacular, but tuff as nails.

Im still working on finding fronts to match but the KNARLY rears are allmost industructable.

I have rode them thru the coal mines of PA and thru Hatfield Mc coy with absolutely ZERO flats in over a year+ and best part of this is that I seriously dont even think of the rear tires at all when negotiating rocky terrain, just get the fronts thru and hammer down. The only time I managed to put a whole in one was flat landing a small jump at Rausch with 2lb of air in the left rear.

Holeshot XCTs are pretty bullet proof from my experience. Never got a puncture in them. I bent a rim once and got a flat, but the tire is so stiff its very ridable even flat. The bad thing about the XCTs though is the tread wears awfully fast.
Im running Kenda Knarleys now, they also seem really tough, and look like theyre gonna wear much better than the XCTs
Id stay away from Bandit rears. Ive known 3 people with 6 ply Bandit rears and all have blown out huge holes in the sidewall. Could be a coincidence, but I know Ill never own a set of Bandit rears.

I have heard some good about the bandits but their downfall is thier weight, too heavy, plus they are a 10" tire instead of 11".

Anyone running Kenda Klaws, lookinf for some input.

never seen 8 or 10 ply before. but im gunna look harder. im not really worried about weight to much just sick of having to plug and pump a tire just to get home. ya know. thanks yall

Chrisp333, I have a pair of holeshot xct rears that are like brand new. I bought them, rode a couple trails and then started mx and haven't used them since. I no longer trail ride so I would like to sell them. XCTs are tough, 6 ply, and have the bead protector where the tire extends out over the edge of the bead. These have more than 95% tread and cost $80 each at Rocky mountain. I will sell both of them for $100. You will love them I am sure. They do fit 10 inch rims however 22x11x10.

After running the 4 ply trail claw 2's and plugging them every time I went riding. I switched to Razr 6 ply and haven't had any problems so far and I ride some pretty rough stuff!

Hey I'm running 6 Ply 20x11x10 Kendas in the rear with .190 itp rims and sofar they are flawless. I would recommend them. Another thing kinda nice about them is that they have kinda V-pattern so you can flip them around

i'd go pure sport bandits all the way around. Everytime a baja team doesn't have a tire sponser and spends there own cash they choose bandits. the only reason many of them use razr or holeshots is because they are payed too. bandits ar great tires. but because they are so puncture resistant they are quite heavy.
