when i went to set the e brake to day it wouldnt work... i would engage it and the bike would dtill move.... it doesnt have an ebrake block of so what could it be

It probably just needs to be adjusted. 400 ex e-brakes are notorious for having to be adjusted frequently. I just dont use it, and im gonna get a block plate and pull the darn thing off.

Take the ebrake not working as a sign that it's worthless. Get a block off plate and your brakes will last much longer,

Ok question??? Pull the e-brake off and put a block off plate but help me understand how will you keep your bike from rolling if lets say your in a little hill or something?? I know if I put it in gear it still rolls..??? I wanna do this to my "R" but I need some kind of ebrake system ??? what can be done?

park sideways on the hill and move your steering so it won't roll,,there's way's to get around not having a parking brake.

I always carry a zip tie to put around the bars and the front brake.

Take the e-brake off of any of the quads that have a disc brake(Yam,Suz,Honda, etc) they don't work. When you park the quad put it in 1st gear and it should not roll. If it does roll, you are either not in 1st or you are down on compression.

It goes on the back caliper and is held on by 2 bolts. It is where your parking brake cable is attached at. You can get one anywhere, check the mags. About $10-$12. Then pull the cable out and put it in the garage. I tried to keep mine adjusted, on my old 300, it was a loosing battle. When I got my 400, I took it off first thing.:p

It just takes off the whole e-brake cable and you put a plate where the e-brake connected to your rear caliper. As for the clutch, you can replace the whole thing with a better looking lever and perch since their's not need for all of that stuff on there.

I got a speed racing lever and perch, and the block-off plate, and it works a lot smoother than the stock sytem.
