hello the other day while working on my 400ex carb the rubber that mounts the carb fell apart from the aluminum that goes to the head! after doing some research i found the new part had to different numbers!this is a 2000 and the original p/n was 16211-hn1-000 this one is rubber glued on a aluminum piece bolted to the head the other p/n is 16211-hn1-010 witch is a phenolic part completely surrounded in rubber not just glued on the end like the first p/n, a much better design because the phenolic will not transfer heat like the aluminum one will! mine was clacked for a long time so everyone might want to check theres, i have not road it yet but it does seem to not spit and sputter when its cold as much as it did before! hope this helps someone scott;)

happens too most 99 and early 00 models, that's why honda changed the part and #, i replaced 2 on my 99-440ex, jumps and hard landings they wouldn't last long "bad design", the new part has lasted 2 years still looks new "no cracks", mine was 28$ 2 years ago

i have a 2001 also that has the new design part thats perfect and if you look at yours and can tell its aluminum im sure its starting to crack ,the heat off the engine will make the rubber desinergrate, another way to tell is the new design is all black in color as apposed to half blk and half a dull spray can color and ofcource the cracks around the outside edges!
