i think the best thing u can do is what im doing i just got 400ex arms and tie rods along with peps triple rate with rezzys 400ex shocks, u can use your 300ex stock one but will have poor proformace, u should atleast try for a set of stock 400ex shocks because any400ex shock will increase weel travle.
if u get 400ex shocks u have to get a mounting bracket, u can get them from ebay, i have placed a bid on one the other day once i get one i can put my kit on:D
the bracket moves the shock mount holes up.
as far as i know the 400ex arms ar like 1 or 2 inches wider.

yes the stock shocks will work but i think it will sit lower because the arms are wider so the shocks will mount to the arms wider out, usind the 400ex shocks makes it sit close or at the same hight as stock, also giving u more wheel travle, almost possitive 95%

i do not know if u can get the mount for the shocks at the dealer if i do not get the one on ebay i will have to find that out for myself.

Search around ebay and try to find a guy selling everything minus the shock brackets as a kit.

I think the last one went for 275.00/

If you end up doing it I have the whole front assembly from the 400 avail.

how would i mount the shock braket because the original one on my quad is welded on to the frame

the new one would bolt into the hole and then extend out

You pretty much only have 2 choices:

400ex/250r a arms with a custom shockmount bracket and stock/aftermarket 400ex stock length shocks
or

400ex/250r a arms with custom length shocks from works, pep, etc... and using the 300ex's stock shock mounts.

Either way if you use aftermarket shocks they need to be properly valved for your setup.

Also in both cases you will need 250r/400ex length tie rods.
