I had a loaded '99 Dakota 4x4 with the v-8. Best darn car or truck I ever owned and I abused the heck out of it. The only thing that ever went out on it was the cat conv. but it was replaced under warr. and they even gave me a free loaner. The only reason I sold it was cause I bought a house and needed to free up some cash. Built like a brick outhouse. I used to take it muddin all the time and everyone else used to get stuck except for me. Nothin like having a compact truck pull out the full size f-150's & 1500's!

check over the undercarrage. my roommates brother just bought a 93 just like you described. 4 days after buying it we show up on our vacation. while we were there it started squeakin and binding underneith, so i crawl under and find that the previous owner had beat the hell out of it. getting cought up on rocks and almost destroying the cross members. i look some more and find the previous owner had almost grenaided the T-case. there was a big crack where a tooth from a gear had tried to roll under the chain. all the fluid had leaked out. so now he has to spend an extra $500 for the back half of a T-case and what ever else is broke inside. im not saying this to scare you from the pickup, just to check over the undercarrage and all the fluids including the T-case.

the truck was driven to work on interstate, then sold to my boss, who drove it back and forth to the local hardware\grocery store. i'll make sure to check under its skirt though:p

Sounds like a nice truck but I hope you have deep pockets for those expensive transmission repairs. I've owned dodge, ford, and Chevy's. But the best I've ever owned was my Toyota Tacoma and 4Runner. I know they aren't the biggest or most powerful. But they are by far the most reliable and durable trucks on the market. The Tacoma is no slouch either with the Supercharger....
