This is a kickass tribute to Layne Staley. You have to have Macromedia 6 to view the movie. Pretty damn cool...IMO

Staind has a song in tribute to him. He died around the same time as TLC's Lisa Lefteye Lopes died in a car accident and much of the media focus was directed to her. Many Alice In Chains fans wrote to media organisations complaining that Layne was being forgotten. This was Staind's song to remember him. Its called "Layne" and has an alice in chains sound to it, its a very cool song.

I thought the tribute was F*ck*ng awsome! AIC was a very good band, IMO better than Nirvana. Layne's music is very dark but it was his drug addiction that fueled many many songs by AIC!

peace

I hear ya man! The song choice was fenominal! I think it is kind of ironic that Layne died on 4-20...

Nutshell

I think that is the acoustic version off of Alice in Chains Unplugged.

that wasnt acoustic. they open up the set with it and you can hear the people cheering as layne walks onto the stage after they already started playing the intro.

A very good AIC CD is called "Sap" alot of people have never heard it, but it jams. Nancy Wilson from Heart sings some back up on it, and so does Chris Cornell from Now Audioslave..Excellent CD

The unplugged album and DVD are at the top of my list. Sittin in a dark basement with that DVD loaded and blastin thru the speakers is awesome..

much respect zephead. Cool to turn us on to that. Layne never got the respect he deserved after he passed away. Sad to see such a talent go:(

Alice in Chains should never be compared to Nirvana:mad: AIC was on of the best bands in the 90's other than Pearl Jam nobody came close. If Curt Cobain wouldn't of killed himself than I don't think anyone would even remember them.I was never impressed with thier music(JMO).I don't think AIC made a bad album,I can listen to anyone of them all the way through.......Wherever Layne and Curt are I'm sure Layne is telling Curt "take a shower dude, you look like hammerd dog chit"

I think Nirvana and AIC were awesome bands. But AIC is my personal favorite.;) I got to see them at Lalapalooza in '93. Now every time I hear Nutshell I'm gonna think about the memorial - how cool was that? That Nutshell was from the CD Jar of Flies I do believe...another great album, BTW.

That is a great song. When I played in a band a few years ago, between the first and 2nd set, the drummer would sit beside of me on a barstool while I played it, and sing "Don't follow" also on Jar of Flies...
