I can get the top and bottom front a-arms and the shocks from the 250r. What modifications if any do i have to do. I read about the top shock mount, but that sounded like they were still using 300ex shocks. I also wanted to know if my tie rods ends will be long enough or not

I've been thinking about this very same thing, and did several searches.

From what I gather, the bushings on the 250r are wider than the 300EX, so you need to grind down the bushings. I believe 400EX arms will bolt up directly without modifications. Anybody feel free to correct me.

You will need the 250r tie rods, but they do not need any special modification.

You will need a shock relocation kit in order to mount the 250r shocks. There was one on ebay a little while ago, there are probably more now.

Please, anybody, correct me if I am wrong. I would like to hear from somebody that has actually done the conversion, either with 250r a-arms, or 400EX a-arms.

you can relocate the shocks if you want...or spend about 300$ and get some works without rezzies that are valved for 400ex arms with the 300ex shock mount...talk to sandy at works to learn more....

otherwise I would find some cheap used 400ex a-arms becasue you can find a lot around, they bolt right up, use 400ex tie-rods and you can keep the same brake lines...

other than that, you can get 400ex shocks but need to relocate the mount...or if you use 300ex shocks the ride will be much lower and botttom out easier

You don't have to grind the bushings down. Just use the 300ex bushings in the 400ex/250r a arms. I used custom length(14.75") directly from Sandy at Works and the stock shock mount locations. It is soooo much better than stock. The worst part is popping the ball joints loose top swap a arms. Otherwise it's an easy upgrade.

you mean 14.75" right??

by the way 300exOH...I ordered some shock covers to fit my shocks...I got them from ebay, a company called wild skinz...I called them up, told them I wanted red raptor covers, and they were here soon enough....

I dont think they are just mean for the raptor, becasue it said "ban, 250r, rap" on the package...

but either way the rear is very snug, and the 2 fronts a bit loose but look great...

there made out of the good neoprene stuff...not the cheap stuff..

Yes. My bad. It's 14.75" Thank you. I'll edit that now.
That's good to know about the shockwears. I've been wanting to put some on there but I never could find out what would fit correctly. Thanks for the info.
