Z-400 carb on a 400ex

Can it be done:confused:

ok here's the run down it's a bad idea to do it cause the z's carb is a vacum operated slide so theoretically i don't think it would even work and from what i have heard alot of people are actually putting the 400ex carbs on the there z's cause with the vacum you have a slight delay when ya get on the gas and the z guys are using the ex carb to get better throttle response since it is cable operated and there is no hesitation this is what i've heard

also how the hell to ya spell vacum i know that not right i'm having a brain fart and i'm drawing a blank here :huh

what about other carbs that would fit on a z400? like would a fcr or lectron carb for a z400 work on a 400ex?

Rico all modern 4stroke sport quads have a pumper carb. but as stated by ugly stay away from a CV (vacuum) carb they are great for fuel economy but suck for performance. the 39mm for the z400 need a new intake adaptor to fit the 400ex

I have a Lectron 38mm on my ex and it totally rips.I beleive it was made for the 400ex though I'm not sure it was on the bike when iI bought it.
