i'd go with a G-body: Regal, Cutlass, Grand Prix, or Monte, definitely tight rides and affordable

Get somthing you don't mind beating on for your first car. Nomatter how bad you say you wont kill it you will. Me and all my friends killed our first vehicles, even after we said we never would.

I assume your just 15 or 16 since you said first car, but one thing you might not know is that your insurance will be more than your car is.... Especially for a mustang (sports car)

Chances are, you are going to wreck your first car. Chances increase if it is a sports car.

If I were you, I'd look into getting a decent truck, they are generally safer in accidents.

That's what I'd buy, I still want a nice one now! My first car was a 81 Regal. Since then I have owned two 86 Oldmobile Salons and and an 87. Very nice cars!

im gonna get bashed for this but I would never buy a car that someone else F***ed with. If its that fast your gonna be blowin up parts left and right. That 6 grand is gonna turn into 8 grand after a tranny, 9 grand after a rear end. 9500 after you need tires from burning the crap out of the ones on it now. And if anything happens to the engine thats atleast another 3 grand If you do it the cheap way. (these are estimates on what I would pay for parts on my car if i blew them up, but it only has 120 hp and runs like 25's on the quarter mile) not to mention insurance. Hey if you got the money go for it. I got my truck for free and I already got 3 grand in it for a new engine, cooling system, a/c work, tires, fuel pump, power steering work. Ive had it for 2 years. stuff happens and you never know what. My friend bought an 87 iroc z comaro for 7 grand I think I know hes got another 2 grand because of his cooling system tires, and a few mass airflow sensors, hes only had it since january. And he never has any money now because it goes into paying his parents back for the money he borrowed for parts, then insurance and gas. Just my 2 cents. please only light bashing

true but I figure since everything was just rebuilt recently I'll have enough time to save some cash to prepare for the problems, I have jobs that pay pretty decent...

get a cheap but reliable car and save ur money and buy the car u want like a year or 2 down the road. your first car is just something to get u experience and stuff. btw yes insurance will be very high on a car like that. get a cadilac or something nice...they usually got v8s too.

A old 60's,70's muscle car....they hold value good....not bad insurance cause its so old... and massive V8s engines....and they can be restored and be proud of your handy work....did i mention they're fast
thats my thoughts
or you could go sub-combact cause muscle cars are gas hogs

I got a brand new truck for my first vehicle.. I got to drive it off the lot and everything, boy was I proud. It is a 2001 Toyota Tundra V8  I thought I was some hot **** with that truck... well when I drove it to high school... people wanted to slash my tires, break my antenna and steal it, sling rocks and mud all over it and plug up my radiator, leave hate notes all over it, etc etc... and i didnt have a clue why people would do that, but yeah.... I would get somethin that aint that great while you are in high school..... my truck has gotten $1000s worth of damage due to morons who mess with it...... now my truck is perfectly fine with an awesome system in it... but it aint worth havin somethin nice and it gettin torn up and havin to pay for it while youre in high school...

just somethin to think about :)

I think you need to get a 77 Pinto with a leaky gas tank. Then put a big wing and a fart can on it and drive it around like your puff daddy or somethin.
