chain not tightening??????? please help

i loosen the 4 allen head bolts and pull the chain adjuster back and it will not tighten.i think he gets looser. is something broken on my swingarm, why isnt my chain tighening. please help

i dunno if its the same on the 400ex, but on mine once you get to a certain point when you pull the thing back it will start getting looser. your chain may be stretched out and you may need to buy a new one. im not sure of the 400ex setup but maybe you could buy a bigger chain roller to tighten up the chain a bit.

sorry double post,,tech dificulties today. Are you compressing the rear suspension when doing this,,your chain shouldn't be that stretched..

Your chain might be stretched the whole way. You could take a couple links out of it, but it would be better probabley to just get a new chain.

IF YOUR CHAIN IS THAT STRETCHED YOU SHOULD REPLACE THE COUNTER SHAFT SPROCKET, REAR SPROCKET AND THE CHAIN AT THE SAME TIME. OTHEWISE IT IS POSSIBLE TO PREMATURELY WEAR THE NEW CHAIN.

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO TIGHTEN THE CHAIN!!!!!!
