valve/oil question

can my engine burn oil from the valves not being adjusted? i know i have to adjust my valves but is it the same thing thats causing my engine to burn a little oil?:confused:

if it had anything to do with the valves itd be the seal on the valve stem, very unlikly but could happen, my best guess is its your rings are done for. But I could be wrong
