i am not sure what your asking? an eight plate setup will fit right into your basket. the thing is, with the eight plate setup, the plates are thinner than the factory ones so they fit correctly with their being one more plate.

i thought it would work with no problems but i read that someone machined their pressure plate .020 to accomodate this set up and there was talks of needing a new pressure plate and basket if you were to go with this set up.i just wanted to be sure.
thanks,chris

i have the sparks setup and it works in the stock basket. you can't use 8 of the factory plates in the stock basket though. the factory plates are thicker than the sparks plate, making the sparks plates fit but not the factory ones. i think some people run the 250r steel plates and 300ex fiber plates. i believe you can make this an 8-plate setup, but don't hold me to that.

I had GT Thunder michine the .020 from my plate. R plates and 400 fibers are the same from what Wayne Hinson said. I then got thinner steel plates and some different springs. What they came from I don't know. I got them from GT Thunder. I was able to use my old basket and other parts. Before that I could only get about 6 months out of a set of plates.

there seems to be some confusion.
is it 250R steel and 300EX fibers or 250R fibers and 300EX steel???
thanks again,chris

i am almost positive it is the 250r steel plates with the 300ex fibers. i think they use the 300ex fibers since they are thinner and that way you can get 8 of them in there.
