Within the next few days, I am going to be picking up my new project. The motor is an '86 LRD265R, everything on it is stock, and in peices. I sorted through everything, and all the parts are there. It has a +2 axle, Doesnt have a sticker on it the guy says its either a durablue or RPM. I am hoping RPM.
The frame is in excellent condition, no cracks or bends. It has a few gussets on it.
Now I am going to be racing it next season. I want to know what will be my best bet on a long travel front-end. Gibson, laeger, lonestar, roll design, JRD, JD ?? Give me some advice, for suspension I am gunna run Elka, PEP, or Axis. Money will decide that. I want a front end that will be awesome, but at a good price. Keep in mind I am only 16, fairly agressive rider.. I can keep up with pros around here, I have to pay for everything myself, so that will determine the outcome. Although I have from now until spring to save.
There are a few nuts and bolts missing, So my best bet is buying a bolt kit for it off of E-bay. Could you please give me some tips on the mods I should do to the chassis to get it ready for the season. I have standard travel elkas on my EX, but I think a long travel front end will be the best money in the long run, so I dont have to buy it later on.
Thanks in advance.
