K&N claims that it helps the fuel mileage.

well....my friend put one in his dodge & it helped quite a bit. I heard that K&N are good fro cars but not for 4 wheelers,

It all depends on who you talk to. I love my K&N on my 400. BUT I keep it clean!

I have a FIPK on my 99 Silverado with 5.3. So far I have not noticed an increase in mileage.... the FIPK gives it a nice deep growl when you get on the gas. My foot has become quite heavy to hear it open up. FIPK kits give you ALOT more than just a filter...but they cost anywhere from $200-$350.
