Has anyone else besides me had/have problems with the hub that holds the rear disc (rotor) onto the axle cracking.
Mine cracked in 3 places.

If I remember correctly the 300ex hub isn't alunimum. Which probably means its a bit stronger.
Its the same disc (I think) and the splines on the axle should be the same , Do you think it would work?

do you run a skidplate??

MX and no skids are common reasons for cracked rotor hubs. But who needs brakes anyway...:ermm:

I don't run a skid. But I don't run any trails that have rocks large enough to gear new the rotor.
Its a little bit of bolth causing my problem I think.

well just your rotor digging in the dirt is not a good thing. The grond is not as hard as rocks but your still askin for a problem.. Breaking a chain is really gonna suck for ya in the middle of nowhere...:(

No skid is for a MX track and dunes only. All other riding requires a skid of some sort..evena stocker....

I run a belly skid and have taken some fair sized chunks out of it from landings.
I had a swingarm skid I used to run but it got chewed up.
