I recommend a JE 416 piston and a TC XC cam.The good thing about the 416 is you still have one more bore if somthing happens(426).As far as recommending it over the 440 most likely for reliability reasons(HEAT) you will have to resleeve the motor as well.I have personally had a 426 and a 416 and there wasn't a HUGE differance in the power, but it was there.Get a good pipe to let that thing breathe I recommend Sparks. You have several choices to make(cam, piston manufacturers etc...)I have also heard good things about Ross pistons.Stay away from Hot cams....to many QC problems I don't care what kind of customer service they have.Make sure you get a "drop in" cam no hardened rockers, unless thats what you want.TC was a drop in cam that I ran in the 426 for 1 1/2 yrs. and then put it in my 416.

you don't re-sleeve for a 416 or 426 just like he said, you bore your stock cylinder. with a 440 you remove the stock sleeve and machine the cylinder too accept the bigger sleeve, i ran my 440 for over 2 years without a problem, never had a heat problem with it but i loved timing chains,

you may need to rejet. i am not sure of the mods you have right now. a stock carb will work just fine, but an fcr will produce more power from what i hear. my 406 runs just fine without porting or polishing. however, i bet if you did some port work, it would run better. modifying the air box might come to an advantage.

ProFab did a nice job on mine. I think their basic 416 kit (not really basic, includes lots of really good stuff) is only $750. Ship it off, get it back, add oil, go ride!!!

Everything. Piston, stage 1 or 2 cam (your choice), heavy duty clutch springs, three angle valve job w/ new seals, heavy duty timing chain, all gaskets, machine work, and labor.

They do great work, and quick turn-around. Tell them Evan sent you.
