should i run a pre filter with my K&N

depends on your riding conditions, if it's dusty well yes...but still K&N isn't very good for dusty conditions or very wet ones, so depending on where you ride i would probably go with a foam filter like Uni.

but for sure use precharger anyway just to be safe.

you will lose a little bit of "power" but it shouldn't be that noticeable, but i've never gone from a K&N to a Uni before so i couldn't tell ya'. hopefully someone else should be able to tell you. all i know is Uni's are very good at protecting from dust/mud/other crap but don't let as much air flow through as K&N but K&N is horrible for dust. and DO NOT listen to people who say Uni filters restrict more air than stock filters....i had a lot of that sh*t on bansheehq.....idiots:rolleyes:

I use a K&N with the pre-filter and haven't had any problems other than when I ran without my lid and it rained.....putting it back on solved that problem:D

I would say yes to running the prefilter :) I would hate too see what my filter looks like without running a prefilter :confused:
