is my pipe affecting this

ok...i have a 88trx 300 and the other day the oil temp light came on...so i went home checked the oil...and there wasnt any....put more in and the light is still on......changed the oil and put new oil in...light is still on! i think i might be burning oil but it doesnt smoke like it would be if it was burning oil.....i was thinking maybe my pipe could be screwing this up but im not sure...its the stock pipe but its been beat around and the inner core feel out so its...almost a straight pipe....could that affect it....this is the1st time.....maybe its just time to rebuild....HELP!

no that shouldn't affect the oil consumptuion. I think its time for a rebuild. But i could be wrong.

a compression test should let you know if the rings are good. sorry to say it doesn't sound good. good luck

maybe ur lights broken...an 88 is pretty old. do the test :blah:

it has a lot of compression.....its is fairly hard to kick over with its kick start......but ill test it anyway

your 88 trx 300 has a lever on the right hand side on the top of the head that your supposed to flip up and it makes it a hella lot easier to kick over just a little fyi :o

if it doesnt seem to burn or leak oil the light is prolly messed up
