when riding a wheelie how do u steer? i know u can lean or something but i dunno...somebody please tell me

08-19-2003, 01:46 PM
well i got a road thats a mile long and the turns u barely have to put pressure on the steering wheel to turn so i guess i can ride one for a mile on my blaster if i sit far back enough on the seat. i rode it 3/4 of a mile when i was younger. maybe if i put the stage 3 powerband back on, i might be able to ride it a mile.

08-19-2003, 01:49 PM
make sure you put the red one on there...its supposed to be a better powerband than the green one. :eek2:

my dirtbike i can keep it up 1 and shift up to 2 and keep it thru half of 3. but its so hard. its old lol.. i can wheelie my friends bigred from standing on the grab bar for as long as i want its too easy its a joke

I have ridden one for 3 miles on my wifes bone stock 400ex. I had to set it down because I ran out of road. You steer by putting more weight on one tire than the other. What you are actually doing is flattening one tire to a smaller diameter which makes the other tire larger. If you put a bigger tire on one side than the other it's going to turn towards the smaller tire. The secret is running a low amount of air pressure.

i have gone for over a mile with ease. i woulda kept goin but i had to turn off the road onto our riding spot. my friend was riding next to me in his jeep. it was pretty cool he said i pulled it up at 55. i coulda kept goin real easy tho. hes got some pics he took with his digi cam. i should really get those from him.

i think standing on the grabbar is sorta dumb. i can do one easy on my big red just sitting down

Do you actually own all those quads in your sig, and if so why are you bothering to build a 330ex?

My back tires have some strange defect that makes one have a lower profile than the other. I can put 2 pounds in the one that is always too big and 6 pounds in the normal one and it always turns the direction of the normal tire. They are both 20 inch razrs and have the same tread wear. It really bugs the hell out of me when i am in a huge feild but the quad goes in circles during wheelies.:confused:

i went for 1.3 miles on the 250ex, on a 3 lane road, wiht my friend behind me in his truck just so we know for sure, if i could make the curve i could go for ever, i can turn a lil, i found that you turn the tires the opposite way you wanna go and you go the way u wanna go......kinda confusing, anyways, i pull it up in 2nd wind it out, wiind 3rd out, the shift into 4th and kinda set it on cruise control and just go

I don't, in the the spring when there is open feilds I can pop up it up in 1st to 3rd gear and go all the way to fifth gear

Probably 4th or 5th gear. I can pull up 4th on flat ground standing on the pegs like normal, but to pull it up in 5th I have to stand up on the seat (or the grab bar). I've got a couple of video clips that a lot of people on here have seen, and there is a 5th gear wheelie going down the road in one of them.

Soooo.....Back to the original question. I am like a lot of the other guys on here.....basically can ride one until I run out of room. The roads bend and curve and slope to the side so much here it is a pain to get more than 1/2 mile in any spot around my house.

Rolling endo's? Hmmm....not very far for me....My breaks are awful....or I guess it could be my fault...but I'll blame it on the brakes.

How about a backwards wheelie riding comp??? :p

4th gear real fast, pull in the clutch rev it to the moon, pop it at just the right time (when my cam is kickin in), slam my *** as far back as i can (usually its touchin the grab bar) and hold the gas down as far as she'll go until the front slowly lifts off the ground to the balance point

5th gear wheelies are fun with low pressure tires. you can pretty much stear it like a dirt bike

i could do wheelies till i ran out of gas..ide need to have it on Reserve already, but still! unfortunately i always end up facing a turn a bump a dip or the dreaded puddle.

As for the Endo the longest i have done is about 7 feet. im to scared to try and slam those brakes on the pavement in second.

yeah I don't do endos much, actually I don't ride much at all anymore...:(
