I guess it depends on who builds the 440.

i dont think it matters who builds a 440ex, the yfz will still be faster... but before you go buy anything i would wait until the new honda comes out;)

theres no comparing them on speed and acceleration but the ex has proven itself a very reliable bike it depends on if u r going on trails or mxing. if u r going to race mx choose the yfz, trails the ex, but with the ex lacking reverse there are sport quads better suited to riding in trails trails

I think its a 505, thats gettin pretty big though. I wouldnt go higher than a 465 but thats just me. I was gunna do a 416 national, and its supposed to haul balls. But Now I am getting a LRD265r so I am happy.

not sure but i would say the yfz since it has all kinds of new light weight crap, other than that i wouldnt be able to say

the yfz is faster, but i still dont see why everyone is claiming its so awesome, is it because the power is more useable than the bike motors or less tiring to hang onto? cuz ive seen crf smoke em at the start , i dont know, im goin crf

My 440 is faster than a stock yfz. The yfz is only like 38 horse power stock and a good solid 440 makes mid-40's. But all you have to do is put a pipe, filter, pipe and you a motor that will tear apart a 440 and wouldn't even have to touch the motor is self. With the 440 kit you have a motor vibrates alot more than stock, runs hotter, and you have to put a lot of money to the motor. And to it right you have to change or modify every part of the motor. Theres really not much you can do to the yfz motor to modify, cams and piston is about the most you can do. Evey thing esle with motor is pretty well tuned. Pus the yfz weights about 50lb less than the 440ex. Another down side of the 440 ex is you really can bore it out anymore so you would have to buy a new sleeve.

eh ur 440 probaly puts out 38-42 bone stuck yfz id say is around 32-34 with baffle removed and stuff id say its 40 prob with a pipe and stuff it would be in the upper 40s

from all of the dyno's I have seen of the Yfz have been high 30's. I don't just have a 440 kit, I will tell you it run 40 plus horse power. What ever any ways. I would still rather get one of the yfz oror maybe 450r coming now. The 400ex motor isn't really worth the money to modify. A good pipe only gives about 3 horse compared to sparks pipe giving you almost 12 horse power.

there is no way a 440ex could even touch the yfz!

in the end the yfz is the better choice....sure your fully modded, race built, all prepped up 400ex engine is faster than the yfz ------ but the yfz is stock, lmao.

r u exaggeratin a little?? 12 horse power out of a pipe? i highly doubt that....thats like a whole 250ex engine:rolleyes2 :rolleyes2 :rolleyes2

I might sound like I'm exaggerating, But I saw the dyno on the internet. Yamaha restricked the he11 out of its motors. The dyno reported said with a pipe, filter, remove lid, rejet, the HP's numbers went from 38hp to 49.8 hp. Thats a 11.8 hp. You have to remember this motor is built to get the most horse power possible from the factory. then yamaha chokes the engine with an exhasts and air box so the bike ain't to fast or powerful. Yamaha top quad motors are all like thats like the raptor and banshee. The only problem is you really can't do to much to the motor to make it any faster after you put a pipe on it. So the kid next to you will easly have just as fast quad as you. The pathic things is I was exaggerating about the numbers for the 400ex.
