I have a question about my Sparks 8 plate clutch.

There are 2 notches in the basket where the fibres slide in. How many do I slide in all the way, and then when or how many slide into the other notch?? I can either put 2 or 3 in the short notch.

I am not very knoledgable when it comes to cluthes, I really don't understand how it works??

Hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say here..

Not sure about Sparks , but usually they all slide in the deep notch, and then the last fiber gets put in the other notch.

And dude becarefull tightening the 5 bolts with the springs on them. Once it bottoms out its tight, the spring pressure holds it in. If you try and tighten it, you'll brake off that thread thing like butter. That metal is soft. Wanted to post that in ur other tread but ....

I guess I should have payed closer attetion to how many were in the outer notch, it could have been just 1, but this is an 8 plate. I put i them in dry and it seemed like 2 on the outer was about right...I could be wrong tho...

Thanks for the heads up on the toquing the bolts..:)

Also, is there any special order they go in? In the manual, it says that there is an outside disc and its marked some how. I did notice that some of the tabs are colored blue...whats that about?

Thanks str400ex,

Makes sense...reguardless of type or brand, only 1 goes in the outer notch.

Thanks again.

When I had 2 in the swallow notches my clutch would slip bad. Changed it to one and it works perfectly.

It doesn't let the clutch completely engage. I don't know if that is what your are meaning. I was just verifying what you said above, about only 1 going in the shallow notch.
