Spitting blood

Ok, I woke up today, and my left shoulder hurt bad. I also wrecked on the quad yesterday. I thought no biggie..it has hurt before and went to school for the first day. I just got in the shower, and i was moving my left shoulder wahing myself and stuff and my shoulder started to hurt worse and it starting going down to the top of my ribs....i went outside for a second and i spit and i noticed, i started spitting up blood. Can i seriously damage anythign if i dont go to the doc for like a week and if blood stops, will i be ok? Or do i need to get it checked out ASAP? I really dont like to go to the doctor :ermm:

Any ideas?

if your spitting blood i woudl say that's a major problem and that you should go to the Doc ASAP.... when your spitting up blood it's not a good thing no matter what.... GO TO THE DOCTORS!!!!

go to the doctors....May have internal bleeding:confused: Thats not good if u do can die from it....When i got hit by a car they said if i had internal bleeding i can die within hours

i spitted up blood before and the doctor said it was just a brused lung and it was the same as getting a bloody nose. but i'd go anyway

Really watch ur urine dude. Spitting blood sounds pretty bad, but if your urine is real dark or you see blood in it thats super bad. Thats when ya can die in a few hours.

Thanks bro, i will keep a eye on that...i guess ill tuff it out and if it gets worse, and i guess i have to go to the hospitial*sighs*

Nope, i can breath just fine. IIt hurts on the bone on teh fron tof yoru shoulder at the bottom, and the bone that basically runs down your armpit kinda in the back :ermm:

i'd wait another day, see if the bleeding stops. there is a chance you probably pierced your lung with a broken bone. and that's something you'd probably want to go to the doctor about to see if there's anything they can do, but i doubt they can since it's an internal thing....they'll probably just cut open your chest and rip out your lungs:devil:

Hey - look at it this way....sounds like you did something to your lungs - bruised, punctured...whatever. I'm not a doctor but no one is supposed to spit/cough blood. Even if you feel OK right now, you could get an infection in there that could really get serious. I have had pneumonia before, and it is EXTREMELY painful.......

If you don't go see a professional and get checked out, you could get worse and then no more riding....you could have done some serious damage in there, and if you don't get it fixed, that means some serious down time. And not riding SUCKS. So....go get checked out.....I hate doctors too....but I really like to ride! And I like to know that I'm going to wake up in the morning, too.......without a lung full of blood!!

I'm still confused. Are you spitting up blood, like it's coming from your mouth, or are you COUGHING up blood, like it's coming from your lungs?

If your chest hurts like you cracked a rib (an yes, you have ribs all the way up to your collerbone) and now you're coughing up blood, that's not good. That's like drown in your own blood while you sleep not good.

yea definatly go i got in a jet ski accident a while back accually thats how i found this place cause i was down and looking for things to do and ways to sell my blaster. but anyway i was caughing blood and when i got to the hospital(i couldnt even take the life preserver off on my own cause it a racing one that you have to lift your arms straight up) anyway it turned out that i broke my arm in 2 places dilocated my elbow and shoulder broke some ribs puctured a lung and a concusion anywayjust go to the DAMN doctor. sorry to the mods for saying that but i got to.

unless he has alot of other stuff wrong with him or he could have a rib that punchered his lung or did ther damage dont listen to kxrider its better to waste money now and go to the doctor to find out nothing is wrong than have something wrong and have to pay bigtime for it
