Has anyone hooked a k&n right up to the carb....I heard about it and I want to try it, any one have any ideas if maybe more top end, throttle response ?

My friend on a Mojave did. It works but it really suseptible to dirt water and debris.

I think you need a bracket to hold it in place. The weight of the filter will most likely make it fall out.

I did it on my mojave. it was a big gain but the mojave has a very restrictive air box:confused2

Well it was like that on my r...:rolleyes: and well DONT do it! My chain would hit it water would get into my engine and kill my bike!:mad: Unless ur a pure dragger and will only got 300ft shure it will work, but for normal-racing-mud-sand ridding get an air box!;)

Thanks man! By the way sorry for any dumb-arse remarks way back when motorboy was around!;) But an airbox is the way to go!

I know someone who has does that with his r and he races mx with it, it seems to get realy dirty though. It comes out bout where a battery is on a 400ex. :ermm:

Why go thre all the trouble finding a tube that will it on your carb and then a medal tube to go into that and in ur filter and have to go threw a filter a week because it has a hole cause of your chain not to metion another 15 for a new pre-filter. For a 1/2hp gain?:huh When an airbox is way better...
