I know suspension does, and I'm pretty sure arms do as well.

I hate to break it to you, but MOST 250R A-arms will not fit a 400EX without modifications.

SORRY!

The distance to the center of the inner arm pivots of the 250R and 400EX are the same. (and the Cannondale, KFX, and LTZ, I believe are the same) The difference is in the width of the pivots. The 250R pivots are wider by about 10mm, I think. You can use 400EX arms on a 250R by using washers or spacers, one on each side of each pivot.

Here's the neat part....... Using stock fwd. arms from a 400EX (such as +0+0 or +2+0) will give you +1 forward(+0+1, +2+1 etc) on a 250R for better handling and stability.

I think quite a few of the aftermarket mfrs make their arms the same for either, with different bushings for the particular application, but you have to check with each to be sure how theirs are built.

Oh.. and as far as plastic....... I've never seen 250R plastic on a EX, but I'm sure it can be done if you have the time, patience, and expertise. You can put 400EX plastic on a 250R without TOO many modifications, but I'm not sure what it would take to do it the other way around. Besides, its NOT cost effective!

The 250R plastic doesn't need to be cut out. A lot of people seem to like the carbon fibre hoods for the 400EX. You can get them from QuadTech, and there's a guy out of Michigan called "CarbonMan".

im talking about cutting the light compartment out of the 400 front plastic not the 250R...or does the hood just fit right over the whole compartment?
