[Pappy]

ok here ya go.....

you must be in grades k-12....no college students

you must obtain a complete A in each of your classes for the entire school year ( the only exception will be gym due to special circumstances)
quaterly report cards will keep us informed of who is still in contention.
at the end of the year you must provide to me a "report card" showing the grades....and your parents phone number.

the winner or winners will recieve a complete quad powdercoating...incuding frame a arms swing arm and stem.

there has to be a limit ...atleast in this post...so 5 free complete PC jobs is the limit. if more win it i will still honor it but i couldnt afford to do 50 so 5 is the number for CMA sakes:p

other prizes have been donated....and if more then one person wins the prizes will be handled thru some sort of drawing.


so far....other prizes include:

I think its great that you are doing this for the kids.

Everyone that is in school. Remember that knowledge is power and no one can take that away from you. Even though it is a pain in the butt to study sometimes stick it out. You will have many more options through out your life because of it.

Any way I am the father of two and like to see people take it upon them selves to encourage our kids.

Hey Pappy I think this is awesome!!!! Cudos to you & the others to step up & give the kids something to work for!! Count my son in (he isn't reg. here yet) he needs incentive so this is WAY COOL he's been bugging me to get his blaster pc so I just read this too him & he was like COOL, he's in 7th grade. One of the sponsors that we are trying to get told him also he had to get good grades so I think this is a great way to get kids to buckle down & get er done!!!!!!!

I think this is one of the coolest things i've seen a person do for a long time. I just got my first quad a month or so ago, and i was just telling my buddy the other day that if my parents had bought me a quad in kindergarten and told me i could only ride it when i had all A's, i never would have brought home anything lower. As it was, i DID NOT bring home all A's. but that is beside the point. i am out of high school and have been for years, but i just wanted to voice my appreciation to someone trying to provide such a great incentive for kids to better themselves. it makes me want to send you some business just to try to be a part of it somehow. let me know if there is anything i can do for this contest, and how much you charge to PC a frame. maybe i'll pay for one for the kids!

I know for me and my school getting an A all year means you have no life, nothing to do and almost impossible, I couldnt even ride my quad to maintain an A, sorry to break it to you but its true for a lot of people to

i happen to work at a recycling center and here in pismo beach california those are worth .78 cents per/lb. and i would say if those are normal trash bags(like 45 gallons or something) then that would prob be worth atleast 120 bucks. :)

Pappy please tell me that I can still enter my son in this contest. I was trying to watch tv and he came running into the living room and was all syked up telling me about this contest. LOL He said I am going to get all A's all year long and win this contest and get my 300ex powder coated by Pappy. This kid did not shut up through the entire hour long show. So I missed the entire show. Every time a good part came on he would come running into the living room again and tell me about another prize. LOL He was talking so fast I thought the kid was going to hyper ventilate. LOL Anyway he is 12 years old in the 6th grade and rides a 300ex. He is not a member here because I think only one person per house hold can have a screen name on here. And I have the screen name on here. :] So if you can count him in it would make missing that episode of my favorite show worth it. And you are a really great guy for doing this for the kids. It will give them something to work for and something to look forward to for their hard work all year.

how do you think we should divide the winnings ..if there is more then one winner?

id say the top 5 GPA's should get the pc (im sure we can figure it out and that is fair...is it?)

then from the prizes donated we could list them in order from the highest price to the lowest and hand them out according to gpa. if someone didnt want a particuliar prize maybe some wtrading could take place. just some thoughts...what do u think?

hey this is actually hoggr9's wife and just found out about the contest and was wondering if i could enter my 10 year old son. I think this is a great thing you are doing for the kids. If there are any parents out there with a son like mine, they need all the encouragement they can get. he is a little hard headed once in awhile.

you can but the thing is that they are heat treated and putting them in a oven might mess w/ the strength of it

Depends on your school. It might vary from state to state or school to school but where I go an "A" is a 93% and up:confused2

I am homeschooled and just started the 11th grade, would I be able to participate in the "Pappy's challenge"?
My parents would be able to send you a report card with there signatures saying that those are the legitmate grades I got in each class.
If I am eligible to enter, then definately count me in on this challenge! Would it be possible for you to powder coat a cannondale frame?

Pappy I have a question (and didnt feel like reading through 16 pages of replies for an answer).. I am in a level 4 class that is weighted (and counts more) and a level 1,2 or 3 class, so a B+ in that class translates into an A in the final GPA. Would a B+ in that class DSQ me from the contest?
