im gonna get a new webcam for my 300ex. Do i need to adjust the valves if its just the drop in cam? Also do the rockers need to be hardened for this cam. Im gonna be running high comp 11:1 piston, sparks exhaust if any of that matters.

With a "drop-in" cam you shouldnt have to go to hardened rockers or mess with the valves because the drop in cams are made to run with stock components like them

if it has been a while since you adjusted the valves you might do it while you are in there.

i am not trying to cause trouble, but web cams are ground cams, that means they have hardened faces on them, i would go with hardened rockers also. i heard you can run them with stock rockers, but be prepared to replace them. just my opinion...check out web-cams website to be sure...

Back in early 1999, when I first had LRD build my 440, they didn't know it was imperative to hard face rockers when using a web cam. After less than a month, I lost a rocker causing one of the valve heads to become so loose it popped off and ping ponged through my motor. It destroyed my brand new motor! After LRD built my motor again, I never had another problem for nearly 4 years when the rod broke in half.
