i have a 98 honda 300ex-i am having trouble with it seems like every other time-it seems to spit and sputter while riding it-if you let off the gas and apply gas again it goes. then say you shut the quad off and go ride again 10 mins. later it runs great-no slugish problems. also i have noticed that if i rev it a little and let off their it blue smoke that comes out the exhaust-i checked the plug and it is fine. i am probalby going to do a rebuild on the motor.-what do i need to get/do for the rebuild. thanks

rob

anything else i should check.

for a rebuild just get a new piston, rings, and gaskets. hone the cylinder while you have it apart. also check the cam, rockers, and valves.

We're getting ready to order my parts to "freshen" up my 300....it's blowing smoke also so we're going w/ a new piston, rings, seals, you should also have your valves lapped/adjusted. I did a compression test yesterday & it only has 90psi of compression:eek2:  so you could do that too to see where your at, it's supposed to have like 185psi:o
So heck it's gonna run soooo much better after all that heck I thought it ran good now LOL I can't wait to see the difference!!!
