Well I finally got them after fightin with the guy I bought them from for the past 2 weeks. I was told that the axle was a +2 adjustable axle, well maybe it is, but I cant see how you do it. Here are some pics, let me know.

And the shocks...

The axle will be +2 as is over stock,,the little spacers on the end are what will give it the other +2,,which is +4 total. If you take the spacers off and put the hubs on then put the spacers on your +2 over stock,,put the spacers on,,then the hubs your +4 over stock,,

I like the look of the rebuilt rear shock,,Your gonna love the difference in handling..:D

Where did you get your axle and how much?

.....oynot400..... I bought the axle from a guy I found on the net, I paid $285, it was never on a quad other than a display quad at K&K ATV I guess.

I got my shocks on now and I am movin on to the axle. Never have done this before, I hope I get it right.

I have a question about the rear shock.....When i pick up the rear end, the rear shock decompresses I quess and then makes a clanking noise, I have no idea. Is this normal, it might be becuase it is a zero preload. Thanks

Totally normal sounds you are hearing. It is the shock decompressing. The shocks have a zero preload feature that does that. And forthe clanking you are hearing it is your top spring making the noise. It is a little nerving the first few times you hear it. But once you get used to it you will never even notice it. You will love those shocks. Good Luck with them. One thing I dont know if you were told or not but with zero preload shocks you need to clean them with wd-40 alot. The spacers inbetween your springs are very prone to dirt and wear. If you do not clean them often they wear alot faster and sometimes will stick. If you start spraying them with wd-40 you will notice that an aluminum colored doo will be coming off them. Thats what you want to clean off them. Then just keep them coated with wd-40 and they will last you a long time. Sorry for the book but I hope it helps you. Mo:p

MityMo- do you have to clean them with wd40 as much if you put shockwears on them?

Do what I did, take a 15" crescent wrench and a 4 foot piece of well casing and that baby will break free! No sweat!

I have a TCS rebuilt just like that, as well as an Elka with the sag option.

They both made the sound you were talking about. I was thinking it was the crossover rings until I checked it out further. I tore the shock linkage apart for normal maintenance and found 2 of the needle bearings were dried up and beginning to come apart. I was able lube and reassemble them & they worked until I was able to get new ones in (without noise).

Now, if I run my TCS or my Elka, I don't get funny noises anymore out of the rear.

You just don't tend to notice the noise with the stock shock because it's not as easy to make move that first 3 or 4 inches as the TCS is.

I used two pipe wrenches to get my stock axle lock nuts off.

The sound you are hearing is actually the spacers that are used to adjust ride height with the SCS system. When the shock is compressed, the spacers are tight, then when it decompresses, the spacers fall down a little bit.
