View Full Version : Is doing the clutch really that easy on a 400???

Well, I got my right side case off and un-screwed the bolts with springs and took out the old fibers and steels.

Do I just soak them in oil and put new ones in? I thought everyone said this was a little more involved than that...like you had to take off the inner basket or something...I forget

BTW..I checked for ridges and grooving on the basket. It shows some normal wear but there are no nicks or groove inside the little fingers...:D

yes it's that simple, soak fibers and plates in oil before putting them back in, make sure the clutch lifter arm engages

Yep a clutch is one of the easiest jobs to do.:)

sweet....:) I just thought I remember folks getting all flustered because the couldn't get the inner basket off w/o a special tool....etc...

But, you don't need to...I'm stoked.
