Has anyone ran an HMF silencer on a 400ex?. If so, was it worth the money, and how was the low end? Thanks in advance:o

Yeh they rock defenitly get one. I think they sound better than anything else too really deep growl. For the money the only competitor is the procircuit. Either one will be good but the hmf sounds better and the low end is awsome but its more of a mid pipe but i adds alot of noticeable bottom.

My Cousin has one, it gave him some bottom & Midrange, it actually took away topend, dunno if its the jetting or what but he gets beaten by stock 400s on the topend. Also this is JMO but I think it sounds stupid, but like I said thats just my Opinion

How can a pipe affect top end? If he's not going as fast, then he changed his gearing.

well, I know he didnt change the gearing. I dont think its jetted quit right, but its pretty close. To tell you the true, I don't think it really did lose any, I just dont think his ever ran as good as most 400 do. I know he took it easy during break-in. Most people I know don't take it easy during break in and they never seem to have any problems.

I am thinking of getting the HMF as well. Do any of you dudes run the spark arrester? Also, will the slip on be just fine or do you recommend the whole exhaust? Thanks guys!

I've just got the slip-on. It works well with my mods. List goes as this

hotcam 2
je piston (416)
39 fcr carb
k&n filter

works great for me, and I don't run a spark arrester.

Does this help?
