which way does the timing chain tensioner retract for re-assembly? i think i remeber it being reverse thread. u screw the screw "in" to get the tensioner to retract. is that correct?

There is a cover screw with a sealing oring that needs to come off first. If I remember right you turn the screw inside with a small straight screwdriver, counter clockwise to rectract the plunger. If that does not work then it is the other way. I find it easier, when working with the cam chain to remove the plunger from the cylinder then there is no interferance with the tighter. ;)

oynot400 . i got it. i thought that cover screw was the tensioner. i forgot about that screw being a plug. many thanks
