I have a few questions about the GasGas 450s.

1.Is it a Dual Cam Engine?
2.4-valves, Right?
3.Whats the Bore and Stroke?
4.Compression Ratio?
5.Dry Sump or Wet?
6.Is the EFI Programmable/Remappable like the C-dales?
7.does it have a Back-up Kick Starter? If so could you take the battery and everything off or does the EFI run off of the Battery?
8.Whats the actual weight?
9.How much Suspension travel Front & Rear?
10.Does anybody make a different exhaust for it, cause that Arrow one is uggy.

Thanks

3. don't know
4. don't know
5. don't know
6. yes, some dealers have the programs already
7. yes, not sure, probably
8. factory specs it at around 415 dry(i think)... but it can loose some weight easily, trust me.
9. 10.5" F, 11" R i think
10. give it a little time. i talked with LRD about the 2-stroke exhaust & they have it on the back burner for now... bigger sales units take higher priority (such as the YFZ)... they're in buisiness to make money not fill nich markets.

I had the 450 back in March. I loved that quad. :( They are suppose to make some changes for the '04s. Mine had some problems, so I hope they got them fixed. They got our man Mickey Dunlap to help them out, so if they listened to him it should work out! :D The only other quad I rode that compared was a Houser/Sparks CRF505 with full PEP suspension. That quad was awsome, then again $20,000 should do something.

Oynot,
What happened to the 450? Was that one of the buy-backs?

I lost the hydraulic clutch was the reason I took it in. What happened to mine was it had too much compression, 15:1 according to Mickey Dunlap. Trying to start that much compression, took out the starter clutch. So a piece of debrie got caught in a oil passage causing too much oil pressure. This would over power the slave cylinder for the clutch. I was told that there were other issues, but I did not have mine long enough to find them.
The dealer bought it back and traded me into the 300 2-stroke. Its alright but that 450 had more power.

They are 2 totally different machines.

The 450 is very smooth on the power. You don't feel it, but it jsut keeps coming.

Where as the Cannondale's have a hit right off take off.

I haven't put much seat time on the 450 (about 3 minutes on) Rick let me take Mickey Dunlap's 450 for a little pit ride at the last GNCC. All I can say is I was grinding ear to ear for about 5 minutes afterwards. Awesome quad, but I'd like to see it have some more snap. I think a different cam, pipe, and some more compression would solve this. I think GG dropped the compression to 10:1 or so.

The GG 450 is one of those machines you can ride all day and not wear yourself out on. The other big difference I've notice between the GG and Dale is the brakes. The GG stops 10x better than the C'Dale.

As for the release date on the 450's I'd guess first of the year, there are some floating around at different dealers now (Mine has one), but the official release will depend on when GG feels the thing is ready.
