not many people on the site have arens parts to compare to AC:ermm: but its safe to say arens will fit and is more then a fair deal.

I have (AC) pro pegs with the custom double peg extensions and sure they are cool but the quality, quite frankly, just is not there...

Could almost swear the rigid electrical conduit in my building is the same material and furthermore they arrived with some cracks in the welds..I would really like to see a pair of arens.

I am with Pappy, iI say go for a set of (Johns Arens) new nerfs...:)

Here are some pics of mine after a hard hit. Hard enough to bend the foot peg and knock me and the quad to the other side of the trail into a tree and bend the right front rim. The nerf did bend but was easily straightened. And the welds look to be just fine.

After starightening and a few whacks of the BFH to the foot peg.
Not perfect but will do just fine.

Do the Arens nerfs stick out past the wheels? Do they get real close to the rear tire like in one of those pics, or is that cause u bent em??I need something that is not wider than the wheels and the tire ?? cause I have 22in rear tires.

Thanx

JOEX
08-14-2003, 03:11 PM
They are wider than the wheels, about 48" overall. I think most nerfs are wider than the wheels. Not positive though.
With stock 20" tires there is about 2" of space in between the knobs and the nerf. 22" tires should fit fine.

Well unless your planning on replacing them, when you tear down this winter, ship them up here and I'll PC them for ya. just pay the shipping both ways. I'm sure I can find room in the oven for them;)

I have the AC nerfs and i really do like them. I have no complaints with them. I also do like the arens nerfs. I like the fact that he seems to aim more towards the everyday person. and also strives to make a product better then the competition, yet better priced. I would take a set of arens nerfs if i had to do it again, i like the design, and i like the support he has givin exriders.

my white bros. took a shot into a tree and a few big ***** are in great shape. they are shorter front to back than the AC. the a narrower than the whells and tire by about a half inch to each side.

AC all the way. Aerens just realeased the nerfs so u cant really have 100% faith in them, dont get me wrong im a Arens lover myself but nothing beats propegs. AC has been providng aftermarket nerfs prolly before anyone besides DG. But if u want a good pro-peg style besides AC look into X-factor they are a lil more cashola but definately worth it since they have a bulit in steel peg

There have been many posts on here about the quality of our parts, and I didn't think it needed to be stated again. However, when you open a box with my name on the side, I promise you, you WILL see quality.

When you buy a product fromn the manufacturer you almost always pay th MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price)
When a retailer buys a product from the manufacturer it is closer to 50% of the MSRP. There are variables depending on the manufactuer so that is a ball park figure. It could be more it could be less.
Retailers often but in bulk which usually equals a lower cost for them that is why the larger retailers are able to offer lower prices. Many times there is a lack in customer service that goes along with this. It ends up being a trade off...... customer service vs. price. It is the balance of the two that will make or break a retailer.

Buying direct from the manufacturer is hardly ever a good deal.

ive hard arens nerfs for quite a while now and they have held up way better then i thought any nerf could. ive hit some trees pretty hard and rolled the quad a few times, and theyre holding up good. if they work on the new honda quad, they'll be going on mine.

i got my arens nerfs and they fit great, and look sweet. i am way happy i got them.

but i have one complaint. i called and ordered them tuesday august 26th, john said they were in stock and would ship the next day. it came around to fri/29th, and i knew they probibly wouldnt be delivered, but i was leaving for the weekend and i didnt want them to sit on my front porch all weekend, so i called him and asked if he shipped and when i should expect them. john said they shipped thurs(28th) and should be 3-4 days. so i figured with the holiday they'd show up thurs/fri Sept 4/5. nope, so again i asked when they should be in, and john said he had ran out of bolts, and they shipped thurs(4th). so asked for a tracking #. he said he was in the shop and he would go to the office and call me later. never did. so i called him back monday and asked for the tracking # again. he gave it to me. i checked it and they did not ship til mon/8th. i got them yesterday at noon.

it rubbed me the wrong way a little. it wouldnt have bothered me if he said i dont have any and i have to make them, or i dont have them ready to ship, but he told me they shipped 2 times when they had not. i know there are a lot of more important people in the world than me, but all i wanted was honesty.

i do love them though, and i would recomend them. they practically fell on, it took longer to lace the nets than install them. i just wanted to share my experience.

Just so you know, I wish we would have gotten them out to you a little earlier also, but the dates FedEX assign on shipping are also a little deceiving. I'll explain it to you.

In many cases I'll have the parts dropped off directly to the FedEx terminal. This saves a day from the person coming out to the shop. (My shop is about 35 miles from the nearest FedEX office) However, the down side is this. Since it is a normal FedEx air office, and NOT a FedEX ground terminal, they actually wait at that location until the FedEx Ground truck picks them up. So.... Even though they are out of my shop and out of our hands, they are not officially entered into the FedEx Ground system. And that is why sometimes I can drop the parts off, and then call for a tracking number a day or two later, and they cannot find it in their computer data base. Shipping over a weekend doesn't help either.

If you are wondering why I use FedEX instead of UPS, FedEx is usually MUCH cheaper, and that saves your money for more important things. I'll give you an example. Yesterday I sent out 2 - 250R frames. One went to PA, and the other to New Jersey. The customer in PA requested I use their UPS account, so I did. The cost was a little over $36. I then sent the other frame by FedEx ground to New Jersey, and the cost was a little under $19 for the same 47 pound package. FedEx is almost always cheaper, but even more importantly they have never wrecked a package for me. At UPS they really don't care. I have special boxes made for most parts, and even though we are extremely carefull in packaging, even going so far as to put "UP" arrow stickers on the frame boxes and a "fragile" sticker, the local UPS rep has sent me their official policy statement that says they ignore any such stickers or directions. Basically if they screw up a part, it is a big hassle for the customer and for me, and nobody wants their parts wrecked before they even install them. FedEX is just easier to work with, and they care about getting the package delivered in one piece.

Hope that helps explain things a little better.
