Well.. Since I had some money when I sold the 300 I decided to go buy the YFZ. This bike not only looks great but it just flat out hauls.
I made sure I got some real good seat time on the quad before I reviewed it. I just got back from bluff creek and put about 2 hours on it at their mx tracks. The tracks were really muddy and the jumps were kinda rutted but everything was still clearable.
When you get on the quad it feels like you are way to big for it. Im used to sitting IN the fourwheeler while this one feels like you are on top of it. But it doesnt take anytime to get used to the size.
Obviously since I had a 300 before the power difference is just unbelievable. But I have rode some pretty modified 416 and 440exs and this in the stock trim pulls harder they did.
I didn't believe the 2 stroke hit up top, but the quad revs like crazy. You really have to give it gas just to get it going. I killed it 3 or 4 times just getting used to it. There isnt much low end but that will probably be cured with a pipe.
The handeling is awesome. I just hamered it around the berms about 50% harder then I ever did on my 300. You can go low or high with this thing and it doesnt matter it still goes where you point it.
As far as suspension, I put it through some good tests today. THere is about a 60 foot tabletop there and I came up short and over shot it a couple of times, the suspension just soaked it up. Along with all the other jumps the suspension worked great. I pulled a good 6 laps on the long track, over a mile and half long, and it never seemed to fade. The only prob though is the little bumps on the trails. It is kind of a bumpy ride but not worse than the 300 before.
All in all, Im glad I bought it and Ill probably take out the baffel and air box lid next ride and see how it does then, but if you dont wanna wait for the honda then get the yfz.
