I heard that you could put a kick start on a 400 ex. If you can could any body tell me were I could look for one at.

Ben, I believe you're wrong. You CAN take parts from an XR400 and make your 400EX kickstart. It involved replacing the side case to fot the kicker, and removing the starter motor. Obviously a little more detailed than that, but it IS possible.

Ok, I was being a little over simplistic - yes you can do it, but if you have to ask "where to find one at," you probably are unable to do it yourself as it requires quite a bit of modifications. The time, labor, expense, and imo small benefit make it a waste of time. Just my opinion though :)

Did not need any one to tell me I was stupid for asking about a kick start. all I wanted to know is were to get the stuff and I will take care of the rest. Thanks

nobody called you stupid. you can get the parts off an XR400 dirtbike :)

I saw a kit in a magazine but I don' t remember who makes it. It might be "XR's only"

I dont think the parts from an XR would work because the kick lever goes down and back. The wrong direction to kick start a quad. My .02

my LT kicked down and back...on the EX you might need to cut some of the plastic out tho
