Is there a easy way to ease up the 400ex's thumb throttle. The stock one is super stiff. When I go look at new quads I notice how easy the thumb throttle is. What can I do, new cable, lube it up, what?

you could do both either would help. I would just get a new one if it is that bad though.

What are some aftermarket names that make them. Or should I get a replacement from honda.

Honda ones are fine, i doubt an aftermarket cable will be any better.
isnt there a built in adjuster? i made mine stiff from being too floppy, or you could just use it alot:D
If you do plan to get new cables, look into steal-braided brake lines. It will probably be the last time you replace your throttle cable.
