my cousin works at a gas station that aells cam2 (112 oct) and i was wondering if this is the best fuel to use or if there is better. i know av fuel prob. works best but i have no where to get that around here. im going to mix a 50/50 112/93 oct. for my 11 to 1 416 motor. is there a better mixture ratio or should i run straight 112? a buddy of mine said 50/50 or so any suggestions?

Chrisp,

I have 11:1 502cc and I run CAM2 (110). I mix down to about 106 octane or about 4:1 (four parts 110 to one part 93). Your 11:1 is similiar (if it's a true 11:1 not advertised 11:1) so this should be close if you have top end port flow work done.

Hope this helps.

its a true 11 to 1 and guyis good. he is going to squeeze about an 11.4-7 to1 out of it. he is doing a port and polish job and ive got a rev box mod as well.

OK, that's fine. Why would anyone have to squeeze 11.4-11.7:1 out our motor? It's easy as shiznit too squeeze just about any compression ya want; I mean, for example take the base gasket out and drop your sleeve down 0.025" and you can get that, or deck your head 0.020" and get that, or do both and get near 12:1. My point is,... Without even touching the piston shape you can change compression. Did you know that our valves have approximately 0.080" from the valve to the piston deck? That's alot of room to play with to increase compression. But I wouldn't even think over 12:1 if I didn't have hardened head bolts to keep the head from twisting under load; plus, ya have to run straight race fuel for those compressions,...11:1 you don't, you can pull up to pump gas and run (ya might have severe pinging tho)

Hope this helps.
