Well with that TRX450R going to be out in the future, I'm thinking about trading in my 400EX. It's not paid off, I got it through Honda. Does it work like trading in a car? Will they pay off so much and then roll over the rest? My quad is mint(03) I imagine I'll get raped on the deal. Is anyone thinking of trading for the new 450R?

ya..i wouldnt even bother trading it into the dealer unless you wanna get like $3,000 or something...your'e better off listing it in your local paper or something.

We're from the same state. If your thinking about trading it into a Naults then forget it, they won't give you much at all. Go to a gas station and pick up a Want Ad. You should be able to sell it in there like everyone else. Also www.thewantad.com

When i had my Rancher, I had it for about a month, it was in PERFECT condition! No scratches, no nuthin! It was a 4x4 ES model too, It was completly paid off, And when i went to trade it back to the dealer(cause i wanted a quad that i could jump), I asked if i could trade it for a 400ex if i gave in a little money, But i woulda had to pay over a grand to get the 400, so i asked about a 300, nope, still too much, and theeen :( i asked about the 250, and i still had to pay $200 towards it. If I were you, i would sell it urself, you deffinatly wont get what ur 400 is worth if trade it in to the dealer!

Bender, don't even think about going to Naults. A few years ago they offered me 400$ for an XR100 that I later sold for 1450$. It was the same bike that I bought from them for 1500$ only months earlier.
If you don't want to sell it privately, you could try Big Toy Consignment in Merrimack, or RJs in Nashua.
I've had good luck selling machines in the Union Leader, but the Want Ads work well also.

DO NOT TRADE YOUR QUAD IN!!!! Sell it outright!!! I have a 00' Kodiak 4X4 that I had the same deal as killa250ex, it was aperfect shape & I was looking at a 98' 300ex & they only wanted to give me $1500 for my kodiak:eek2: I paid $6600 cash for it!!!! Told them they could keep thier USED $4500 300EX & I'd keep my Kodiak, still have it & bought a 300 for $1800!!!! Good luck;)

I had my 400 on ebay twice, in the paper for two months, and even had it on here. I still have it. I was told by my dealer that I could get 3 grand for it on trade. I don't think thats a bad deal considering I couldn't get $3500 for it anywhere else, and it is an 00 in almost showroom codition . Keep in mind that the market is about to flood w/ used bikes, so it will be even harder to sell it then.

you guys cant get mad at the dealers though they are just tryin to keep the doors open and make a little at it. when you guys go in and beat dealers down on prices it would be the same if your boss came in and said "ok, you get a pay cut". From first hand experience, dealers put the least in your quad that they can to cover themselfs for various reasons, just like you look for a job that pays the most, anyway, YOU went to the dealer, so dont diss them for tryin. jmo
