479 grind web cam [Archive] - ATV Riders Forum

is a 479 grind for a web cam aggresive? or is it a rec cam? the reason i want to know is because i just bought a supposedly stock motor but the head gasket blew and when i looked inside i found a 440 with an 11:1 piston, so if anyone culd help me that would be great, thanks

The 479 webcam is a good bottom end cam for low end grunt, not to be mistaken for top end hp.

479 better bottom-end torque trail rid'n or hill climbing.

I think the 479, is 1 lower than the most aggressive.

Its hard to tell what area this cam is the best at. I always thought it was a top end cam, ... but I did all my mods at once. So its hard to tell and I'm not sure what web actually designed it for.

Def. not a rec. cam thought... hardened rockers and stronger springs are a must.
