Lol, I guess im just worried about things like cold seize, and over revving? Im afriad I'll hurt the engine. What should I do if im going to be riding it in the snow, on snowmobile trails? I wanted to get some maxxis 4-snow tires for it.

just let the motor warm up good before you start hammerin on it and make sure the jettin is spot on and you should be good to go

Letting it warm up is a good idea, anything over 5 minutes isn't worth it though. :D I would suggest keeping the swing arm skid on just so that it doesn't hit anything covered by the snow :D And make sure you clean it out after you ride, if possible keep it somewhere warm :D Good luck

ya know what skrew it lol its only a 250r easy come easy go nail the beast until u drive the piston threw the engine... choke cord ahahhah i laugh than after ur done coast it into ur local lake or ocean or atleast try to hydro plane it across the water rofl. now thats a intense day of atv ridding in the snow, lauches over cars is also acceptible but just make sure u hit the gas once its started. :D

(if you take my advice you got ethier good or bad issues.. those are for you to find out)

let it warm up to running temp. before you run it at all. try to keep in a semi warm area it will be easier to start. put more antifreeze in radiator than water(in summer you should have bout 50/50 or 45/55 somewhere around there). just ride it like you would normally but when your taking off lug it alittle bit just to get moving cause if you smash the gas you'll just spin. also are the trails you go on hard packed? cause its up to you whether to use a skid. depends on if ou know alot abou tthe area your riding in. there are ups and downs to either way. with one if you jit something it wont damage anything but possibly the skid, can slide over the snow somewhat to an extent but the without youll have more ground clearence and the chain and rotor will just cut through the snow instead of dragging. i just dont even run my r in the winter if theres snow on the ground but that only cause i have access to my dads sportsman 500. thats about the only help i can give you

Ya, im talking about hard packed sled trails. I rode my 300ex all last winter, and it was great riding. My dad has a sportsman 500 too, we plow the driveway with that beast.

do not use vegetable based 2 stroke oils..they will bead up & cause a lean out ...below 33 degrees
make sure the quad is in properly maintained, cables etcs ...
warm up for proper time is good idea also...if too long it could over heat

You will want to install a size larger pilot jet and get a couple main jets 2-4 sized larger.
As far as oil goes, I have had great luck running Amsoil Series 2000 at 50:1 in all temperatures(0*-95*F.
