i dont think u have to buy i kit..but i think they tell u about it under tech articles..i wouldnt do it because i heard if u do something wrong u could screw something up bad

i did it about a year ago and havent had any problems yet. I dont think it can hurt anything, but im still cautious. I always make sure im in neutral before putting it in reverse. And i make sure i take it out of reverse before i try to shift it back in gear again. But so far i havent had anyting go wrong.

all you need is a wire tie or a small piece of wire to hold one of the levers back. just keep an eye on it, eventually the wire will rust or the wire tie will break, and you wont have rev. wich sucks when you think you have it so you try something stupid.

it will be a while before it breaks but, it will happen

i think i will just tape the lil red thing on the clutch lever down that show be ok shouldnt it ?? or will it pull in far enough for the clutch:confused:

i only did the reverse mod because i put a cr lever and perch on my bike so i dont know. look in the tech articles and there is a how to with pics to show how to do this mod.its real easy

i used stainless steel cable. Wont ever break!

If i take my 300ex to the shop will they do the reverse mod for me cuz i dont like foolin around my bike this way

OK this is very simple. No need to take it to the shop, they will just look at you like :huh . Push the button and pull in the clutch lever, on the right side of the engine under the clutch. Thw lever is pulling another little lever that sticks out of the case. Just tie a wire to it to hold that lever back and all you will have to do is pull the lever next to your left leg.

nah, you still have to be in nuetral to shift into reverse, so i dont see any dangers.
