Are they worth the cash for XC riding compared to rolled edge?
I love my OMF race wheels. They are very very tough. I have hit many things that would have already bent stockers and they only have minor scratches :muscle:

anyone know why ITP's new race rings arent welded:confused: they are crimped and the ring moves around in the rim:ermm: i was pretty disappointed:scary:
there much cheaper and easier to make that way. No need to deal with welding. I think ITP wanted to go with a cheap price as there selling point rather then quality. I will NEVER buy ITP rims. I only buy Douglas. :macho

My experience with OMF's Race rims is that they are strong, but their welds aren't. First time out I broke a weld on the inner ring. I admit I was in 1st place and going 5th gear through a rock garden but I don't think that should happen. I thought the weld is supposed to be stronger than the metal it connects. Maybe I was mislead.
These wheels are very tough but I don't think their tough enough.

Is it worth getting the rings and have them welded onto your rims?

Only if you got a person that is very experienced in welding aluminum, (alot of welders are not) so they look good and are strong, otherwise I would buy them already done.;)
Another pic of mine :macho

I have been making and installing race rings on my wheels for years they really help on mx rims and tires. Before using them I would flatten wheels all the time. They hold up pretty well but we have still broken some rings on 10" rear rims on some big jumps.

Why fix? I want bulletproof so they don't need fixed!:D As you see in my sig, I bought Crazy Honda's Douglas/ OMF wheels with Holeshot XC's on them. Front's have a 2+3 offset so I hope they treat me good in the woods.;)
