It seems like all my friends that ride dirtbikes are always breaking bones. So far one friend has broke a collarbone, one broke their foot, one broke their tailbone, and just last week a different friend broke his arm. Not that you can't get hurt an a quad. Either way, have fun.

put the pipe down...

haha, they been having alot of problems with ball joints and bearings in the front end, id classify there chassis as junk, not to mention there the ugliest quad out there, there pretty heavy too, no one who races mx around here with em has anyluck, my ex outhandles one , the ex just has more bump steer, the only thing the predator has going for it is the front end handling and the motor, id put money in the motor on your ex, you wont know what you want til you ride it hard

i was pondering the same thing for awhile, i was really thinking about buying a cr250, i love quads but i rode a brand new cr 250 and it was just awesome. my dad told me hes going to give me the 400ex for graduation so i scratched the Dirtbike idea. i have a good 450$ saved up plus more on the way. i plan on trickin out the 400ex, or selling it for a new honda/ or yamaha. i would stick to quads tho, they are alot of fun and for ME Alot safer.

if ur gonna ride a bike hard your gonna break bones, everyone knows that

Polaris just sucks, i hate em. why would you go buy a brand new predator when you could spend a little more and buy the new Yami or the honda coming out? Polaris sucks the big one, i would NEVER ride polaris. there quads suck as bad as there snowmobiles ;) .

lets see the 400ex is a great quad, it had its time, but it just isnt up to date anymore:ermm:

So i thought Z400.. no because there frames and for not even having that much more power over a 400ex.

250R - no 2 strokes and to old for my taste, even tho a great quad.

Warrior no, blaster no, raptor no, banshee eww, no

YZF450 - to expensive

TRX450R - havent even seen it yet

DS650 - to heavy for me

V-Forse - dont want an auto but is a nice quad

Predator - heard good things, very fast, and handle great. Have good stock suspention and tires. Is already wide enough so dumping money into a arms and axles wont be needed.

Thats where im coming from

predator weighs almost the same as the ds 650.....id rather have a ds than a predator actually

i dont care what you say a predator is not as good of a mxer has a ex, its too big and junk, i dont care...its just junk J U N K junk!

as for up to date its more than good enough for you, your not racing nationals or A class mx, you ride some practice tracks and might race a hare scramble or mx correct? i doubt your even riding your quad to its potential, take the extra money and do some motor work

Dude the Yzf 450 is 900 dollers more than the predaturd. you would be on crack to pass that up. the new ds 650's have lost 40+ pounds [i would take the 1st model ds650 in 2000 over a predator] . Anyone who is looking for a New stock high performance quad would be stupid not to buy the new Yami, NOTHING comapres to the new Yami, Stock-Stock. N-O-T-H-I-N-G. you could put 1,500 dollers in another quad and it wouldnt be as good as the new yami.

If the preditor is what you really want, then go for it! If it was me, I would save an extra $900 for the Yamaha.

About getting a quad or a bike..... Go to a dealer, test ride a Polaris Preditor and whatever Dirtbike you are interested in, and pick your choice ;) .
