I put a brand new case saver on my 300ex. and i have a x-ring chain. When i first put it on should there be any friction or should there be enough clearence?

i sold my oem one it was just takin up space, easiest 10 bucks i ever made:D

There should be a little clearance. Take your stock case saver out and grind down some of the metal until the chain doesnt touch it.
